Ghanaians are all talking about a controversial ‘Papa no’ released by local artist Hiplife musician Barima Sidney (Sidney Oppong Ofori).
A private citizen identified as Abdul Ganiu Issaka, has asked the Ghanaian High Court in Accra to restrain Barima Sidney, from releasing his latest music video. The audio is already in vast circulation though.
Kofi Ajikor who speaks for the plaintiff said the video for the Hiplife artiste’s song seeks to drag former President John Mahama’s name into the mud.
Issaka’s main purpose is to secure an order for an “interlocutory injunction” to be placed on the video for the musician’s controversial song.
The injunction will also restrain the premiere or promotion of the video.
The term ‘Papa no’ came about after Tracy Boakye and MzBel were at the centre of a controversy over a man they were both dating.
Although the man still remains anonymous many people believe it is John Mahama because the two ladies had once joined his party, NDC, and met the former president.
“That is why we have been forced to take injunction from the court this morning to stop him because the video is set to be released,” Ajikor told a local radio station in Ghana.
