Uganda's incumbent, President Kaguta Museveni has cancelled his expected Presidential Address that was scheduled for 7pm this Sunday after his biggest opponent Kyagulanyi Ssentamu Robert announced to hold his address at the same time.

Senior Press Secretary to President Museveni, Don Wanyama said via tweeter that the address 'has been deferred to a new date that will be announced. We regret any inconveniences.'

Wanyama announced Museveni's U-turn an an hour after Kyagulanyi a.k.a Bobi Wine's party National Unity Platform (NUP) announced that he would address the nation today at 7:00 PM via Facebook and all other social media platforms.  'A wide range of matters of national importance to be communicated,' the tweet read.

The incident has attracted all forms of reactions particularly many Ugandans mocking Museveni as a scared candidate.

'He saved himself an embarrassment…We are watching our generation president Kyagulanyi Ssentamu Robert, we are tired of lies,' said Gai Simon Peter.
'Nobody is interested in listening to [Museveni's] 1980s lectures. You have to agree that Museveni's message no longer resonates with the young people of this country. You can't go on murdering innocent Ugandans and you expect everyone to listen to you. It doesn't work like that,' said one Elijah Were.
