Kigali: United Arab Emirates Ambassador to Rwanda joins Catholic mass on Sunday #rwanda #RwOT

 

 

The United Arab Emirates Ambassador to Rwanda Amb. Hazza Alqahtani joined Catholic church in a Sunday mass celebration at Regina Pacis Church in Kigali.

 The mass was presided by Cardinal Antoine Kambanda, Archbishop of Kigali.

In his speech to the Christians Amb. Hazza Alqahtani called on the people to be tolerant and brotherly, and stressed that having different beliefs should not be the source of conflict.

Christians at Regina Pacis Church were proud to be with the first Cardinal in the history of Rwanda, Archbishop of Kigali Antoine Kambanda.

The United Arab Emirates is made up of 7 countries including Abu Dhabi as the capital and Dubai as the economic capital. It is a place where foreigners far outnumber the population.

In all of these states there are more than 200 nationalities living in peace and each religion is legal and official even though Islam is the most famous.

Amb Hazza returns to the agreement signed between the Head of Catholic Church in the world Pope Francis and the leader of Islam in the UAE Imam Sheikh of al-Azhar Dr. Ahmed al-Tayyib when he visited them in February last year.

It is a pact that contains the principles of good brotherhood between Christians and Muslims in support of world peace: 'Fraternity for World Peace and Living Together.'

Here Amb Hazza argues that this is a clear indication that no one can claim a religion or belief as an excuse for war, crime, extremism and discrimination.

Cardinal Antoine Kambanda, the Archbishop of KIGALI, says it is unfortunate that some people base on their religious beliefs and mix it up as a source of conflict and war and it is not appropriate.

On October 20, 2019, the UAE announced to the UN General Assembly in New York that it intends to build a two-storey building called the Abrahamic House of Fraternity and will consist of a mosque, the Church and the Synagogue and the shared Center where those churches will come together in fellowship as a symbol of equality, and a dialogue aimed at consensus.
