The incident took place on the night of August 30, 2020, at around 8:30 pm in Zaza Sector in Nyagasozi Cell.
According to reports, the young man and many others were found in a residence house which they had turned into a bar, and as they were being arrested, the deceased tried to hit officers with a beer bottles.
"He was a young man along with others and as they were being led out of the house they were drinking from, he tried to hit police officer with beer bottles on the head. The incident happened at around 8.30 pm," Zaza Sector Executive Secretary Singirankabo Jean Claude told IGIHE.
Singirankabo added that the young man had become a community nuisance that was usually involved theft, beating residents among others vices. He urged all Rwandans to abide by COVID-19 prevention-guidelines set by the government.
The body of the deceased was taken to Kibungo Hospital before his funeral.
