RNC the Rwandan terror group in Uganda has been thrown into panic and shock as tables have turned against them following a syndicate of legal suits against some of its cell leaders.
This Thursday in the High Court of Uganda, a civil defamation suit (civil suit 189 of 2020) has been lodged against Boonabana Prossy, Nuwamanya Sulah and another co-accused Chebet Godfrey.
“You are hereby required to file a defence in the said suit within 15 days from the date of service of summons on you in the manner prescribed under Order 9, Rule 1 (1) or the Civil Procedure rules SI 7I-I,” reads in part a summons letter served to the accused and seen by Taarifa.
Nuwamanya who has been in hiding after slipping through the hands of Police that have been looking for him to be arrested in connection with a previous criminal case filed on Monday at Buganda Road Court, now has no option but to turn himself in or flee the country.
“Should you fail to file a defence on or before the date mentioned, the plaintiffs may proceed with the suit and judgment may be given in your absence,” reads part of the summons.
According to our source at the Uganda High Court, there are more than seven other similar suits being processed against Boonabana, Nuwamanya and Chebet.
Usually in Uganda to lodge such a suit, you are required to first pay 10% of the damages you are requesting in such a suit. For example in today’s suit lodged by Mugisha Henry, he is requesting for a total of Shs200million (approximately U$54,174).
“I have already paid the required 10% and the defendants are yet to be served with the summoning letter by the court clerk,” Mugisha told Taarifa on Thursday without divulging extra details.
However, Mugisha said that after Boonabana and Nuwamanya learned of this suit, “they have started threatening me with death that I should drop the civil suit.”
Chebet is the Police officer from the counter terrorism unit that had been deployed to protect Boonabana. This armed cop was being ordered by the Boonabana to harass, beat and also arrest many Rwandans living in Uganda suspected of having links with Kigali or with successful businesses.
This cop instead went overboard in protecting Boonabana to an extent of extending his state sanctioned services to the bedroom of Boonabana to ensure she is very safe from any harm.
An insider source at Buganda road court says the police assigned to protect Boonabana will be withdrawn because there is proof she is a criminal that doesn’t deserve such protection reserved for clean and dignified persons on Ugandan territory
