South Africa's pioneer technology company Dimension Data (Didata) is struggling with a legal battle following a law suit filed by its former chair Andile Ngcaba accusing the company of racial discrimination and violation of an equal pay undertaking.

Andile Ngcaba is seeking as much as R 430million (U$ 27,327,014).He alleges that for a period of 12 years, the company paid him less than his white counterparts and juniors.

He was a Technology Company executive between 2004 and 2017 but his relationship with them soured in 2016 when he found out about the alleged pay gap during a board meeting.

Ngcaba who served as director-general of the department of communications under Nelson Mandela and Thabo Mbeki, first took on Didata in 2017, dragging the company to a labour dispute resolution body after he learnt he was excluded from an incentive scheme that benefited other staff.

In his submission Ngcaba has dragged the company to a Johannesburg court arguing that the company's global CEO at the time; Brett Dawson had made an oral commitment to him for Equal pay during annual performance reviews in 2004. However, this commitment was never respected.

Dimension Data (Didata) was founded in 1983 and was aligned with Cisco as its Primary working partner. The company between 2000 and 2004 listed on the London Stock Exchange allowing them to later expand to UK, North America and Europe through key acquisitions. This company also has tentacles in the Middle East, and the African region.

Basically Dimension Data has also invested massively in Automotive, Education, Healthcare, Finance Banking and Insurance, Mining, Retail, and manufacturing.
