Some say grandchildren fill a space in your heart that you never knew was empty and others argue that it’s one of the reasons they are called ‘grand’.

A photo of First Lady Mrs Jeanette Kagame has appeared on social media while cuddling her first granddaughter, deeply immersed in love and motherly feelings.

It vividly appears that the granddaughter is a complete bargain and the First Lady seems like she is getting abundant pleasure from what looks like an emotional connection captured in the photo.

Comments of love, support and admiration have began trickling in on the photo circulating on social media.

“A Thing of beauty! This picture captures the saying : “abuzukuru baryoha kurusha abana wabyaye,” said one of the commentators, loosely translated as “grandchildren are sweeter than your own children.”

The First Family was blessed with a bouncing baby girl three weeks ago by the first daughter Ange Kagame.

President Kagame then said that the birth of the granddaughter brought so much joy to the family, “…we are happy and officially grandparents. What a joy,” President Kagame twitted.

“First time is even more exciting,” he said.

Last year Ange Kagame tied the knot with Bertrand Ndengeyingoma. The two have brought joy and happiness to the first family.

Rwandans in various social media platforms are also celebrating the First Grandchild and the fact that the President is now a grandfather.

Surely, it is believed, that two of the most satisfying experiences in life must be those of being a grandchild or a grandparent.

Being a mother is a great feeling but being a grandma is the world. Congs to my @FirstLadyRwanda 🇷🇼 wish you all the joy and God's protection to have many more grand children of all your children. Stay blessed. https://t.co/7ulHimA5zK
