Rwanda Private Sector Federation (PSF) Chairman, Robert Bapfakurera is optimistic that the Rwanda International Trade fair (EXPO Rwanda) will be successfully held despite fears of COVID-19.
“We have not foregone the exhibition,” he said on Saturday morning at KISS FM in a discussion on Rwanda’s economic recovery especially through the Economic Recovery Fund.
Bapfakurera said that planning activities are on going to have the EXPO, which was scheduled to take place between 21st July to 10th August 2020 at Gikondo Expo Grounds, held in December 2020 between 11th and 31th.
One of the major considerations is the plan to hold the trade fair in Gahanga, Bugesera district in the industrial zone. “We are looking for a larger space,” he said. “In view of COVID-19 guidelines, we need a bigger space.”
PSF has already secured a construction permit, and studies are being carried out to come up with a solid plan of how the trade fair should be organised.
