People speaking the Kinyarwanda language on Burundi's territory may not see light again in case they come across imbonerakure militia that has been ordered by government to hunt down anyone speaking Kinyarwanda.
The spokesperson for Burundi's Police Nationale  Pierre Nkurikiye has instructed the notorious state sponsored militia Imbonerakure to locate anyone speaking Kinyarwanda and kill them.
Sibomana Jean Paul aged 52, was on Monday attacked by five imbonerakure militia armed with nailed clubs- they hit him several times until he died. This incident occurred at Kigoma, Commune Bugabira in Kirundo Province.
'He was on his way to visit relatives in Kigoma and was waylaid by the militia. They had information that Sibomana once lived in Rwanda and was speaking Kinyarwanda,' an eye witness said adding that his body was dumped at a health facility in Kigoma.
Sibomana's parents are Burundians and resident in Kigoma. They stormed commune Bugabira authorities demanding for justice but were ignored.
'All Burundians should be on the high alert and especially watch out for foreigners. When you see any one speaking Kinyarwanda immediately inform the security agencies to apprehend them and ask them what they are doing in Burundi,' Pierre Nkurikiye said while in Gitega last week on October 6.
His remarks followed an operation that resulted in the arrest of 64 Congolese of Banyamulenge tribe that had been living in refugee camp of Bwagiriza in Ruyigi.
Nkurikiye said these Banyamulenge 'had decided to go to the town of Gitega and have been living there illegally. That is to say without identification papers.'
