Goma Summit Extended To September 20th #rwanda #RwOT

Authorities in the Democratic Republic of Congo have said the Goma summit has been rescheduled for September 20th on Sunday.

The head of Congolese diplomacy Marie Ntumba Nzeza received this Tuesday James Mbahimba, Ambassador of the Republic of Uganda in the DRC. The two diplomats coordinated their visions on this matter.

During this summit, the four Heads of State will discuss many topics of common interest for the whole region. Burundi, Rwanda, Uganda and Rwanda have confirmed will participate in the summit.

Alexis Thambwe Mwamba, President of the DRC Senate gave his support to this initiative.

'On this occasion, I welcome the initiative of the President of the Republic who invites five of his fellow presidents of neighboring countries for the purpose of consultations on peace and security in the East of the Republic and in the Great Lakes region. We hope that this summit will be held quickly and expect a lot from it for security in the East and therefore the DRC cannot be validly admitted into the Economic Community of East Africa in our country ', he said.

During the Provincial Council of Ministers held this Wednesday, September 9 in Goma, Governor Carly Nzanzu Kasivita called on the population to reserve a warm welcome to these 5 Heads of State who will come to talk about peace, security, diplomatic and political relations. and issues related to the management of the covid-19 pandemic in the region.

Carly Nzanzu Kasivita also insisted on the good image of the city deemed to be 'clean'. The mayor of Goma has started sanitation works, including the edges of the main arteries of the city which are repainted and the sweeping of the roads is accelerating.

The government is also accelerating the pace of disinfection of certain public places, including hotels that will welcome Felix Tshisekedi's guests.
