Parliament has  approved the relevance of the drat law governing partnership, after different interventions from MPs to gain a deeper understanding of its contents.

The bill will be examined by the standing committee.

A plenary session this Monday was attended by RDB CEO, Clare Akamanzi on behalf of government.

Akamanzi told MPs that the draft law governing partnerships comes to fill the gap caused by lack of a regulatory framework for the business entity which may discourage investors wishing to use partnership structures.

She said that stakeholders recommended that the enactment of partnerships law would be another important addition to the improvement of the business environment which encourages the inward investment required for Rwanda's successful development.

This draft law enables the possibility for a partnership to have a legal personality which can continue despite changes in its membership unless the number of partners falls below two.
